Mix
Definition
The proportion of revenue, room nights, or other metrics across categories — channels, segments, room types, rate types. “OTA mix is 65%” means OTAs account for 65% of bookings.
What it tells you
Mix shifts often signal strategic changes. Rising direct-booking mix means your direct channel is getting stronger; rising OTA mix means dependency is growing.
How to track it
Available in most BI tools, broken down by category. Track monthly trends; year-over-year mix shifts are the most informative.
Where it fits
The single most important strategic-level signal. Tells you whether your distribution strategy is working.
