Min Stay
Definition
The simplest length-of-stay restriction — a minimum number of nights required for booking. “Min stay 2 nights for July 14–16” means no one-night bookings for those nights.
What it tells you
Min stay is the most-used LOS restriction. Applied during high-demand periods to ensure inventory goes to longer-staying (higher-revenue) bookings.
How to track it
Channel managers configure min stay per channel per date. Most PMSes also track and enforce it.
Where it fits
Min stay is one of the most common revenue-management tools at hotels with strong weekend or peak-event demand. The trade-off: tightening filling individual nights vs expanding the size of the typical stay.
